Head of the Presidential Administration met with President of Azerbaijan

The Ukrainian delegation consisting of Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Borys Lozhkin, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadiy Zubko, Head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Roman Nasirov and Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Roman Chuprynenko made a visit to Azerbaijan.

The visit was made pursuant to the agreements reached between President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in the course of the phone conversation on November 13.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met the delegation. The parties discussed current state and prospects of Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations.


The negotiators stressed the need to resolve conflicts in the territories of both countries on the basis of respect for territorial integrity of both countries within their internationally recognized borders. The President of Azerbaijan said that the Azerbaijani side would keep supporting territorial integrity of Ukraine consistently. In its turn, the Ukrainian party stated the inadmissibility of the status quo on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

During the meeting, the parties confirmed readiness to intensify political dialogue at the highest and high levels, and agreed upon the algorithm of joint bilateral activities for the near future.

In particular, the parties discussed preparations to holding the regular session of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation in Baku. It will be the main preparatory event for the official visit of the Ukrainian President to Azerbaijan that will be held approximately in the first half of 2016.
