GUAM-Japan Cooperation Program is signed

On December 3, 2015 on the margins of the 22nd OSCE Ministerial meeting (Belgrade, Serbia) a ministerial meeting GUAM – Japan took place, attended by foreign ministers of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mamedyarov, Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Moldova Natalia Gherman and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Japan Yoji Muto.
During the meeting prospects of the development of bilateral cooperation in the context of addressing important regional and global issues, as well as within the framework of sectoral cooperation were discussed.
The Japanese side reiterated its readiness to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of GUAM member states.

The participants identified energy security and renewable energy sources, joint tourism product of GUAM member states, prevention and elimination of consequences of natural and man-made disasters, including waste management, as priority directions of futher cooperation.
P.Klimkin and Y.Muto signed GUAM-Japan Cooperation Program focused primarily on the economic development of GUAM member states and the elaboration of specific sectoral projects.
