Russian embassy in Kyiv pelted with eggs by protesters demanding Savchenko's release, says press secretary of diplomatic mission

Protesters, who demand the release of Ukrainian aviator and parliamentarian Nadia Savchenko from the Russian detention center, were throwing eggs at the Russian embassy building in Kyiv on Sunday, March 6, press secretary of the embassy Oleg Grishin said.

Nearly 100 people who gathered for the action were chanting "Shame on Russia" and "Freedom to Savchenko", he said.

The Russian embassy filed a protest note to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry due to the last night's attack on cars of the diplomatic mission, the press secretary told Interfax-Ukraine.

"The embassy filed a protest note to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, because the attack was perpetrated last night, several cars were broken, flayers and smoke barrels were hurled at the embassy," Grishin said.
