President: Revival of Ukrainian MIC is an irreversible process that will increase defense capacity of the state



President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko visited O. Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau of Kharkiv.
The Head of State emphasized that the revival of Ukroboronprom was irreversible.
“We demonstrated that Ukraine begins to revive and it is related not only to the defense industry. I am confident that the efforts of the Defense Ministry, the General Staff, the Ukrainian Government and Ukroboronprom will significantly increase defense capacity of the state already in 2016,” Petro Poroshenko stressed.

According to the Head of State, UAH 11 billion have been allocated for the purchase of modern armament in 2016. “Substantial part of these funds comes from a very specific source – special confiscation. Confiscation of funds of the former criminal authorities. Why shouldn’t they work for the Ukrainian people and army?” the President said.
In this context, Petro Poroshenko expects the Parliament to adopt two important decisions: “Allow trial in absentia for the criminals who fled to Russia and organize special confiscation in order to allocate funds, inter alia, for the production of modern weaponry”.
The Head of State is confident that it should take place shortly.
The President underlined the efficiency of cooperation of Ukrainian MIC with foreign partners.
“I am confident that our defense industry can meet the needs of our defenders and fulfill the state defense order for 2016,” the Head of State noted.
Petro Poroshenko informed on a successful test of a new Ukrainian missile of the volley fire system: “The test ended successfully and the missile hit the target. For today, Ukrainian military have everything to defend the state”.
The President also took part in transferring military equipment to combat units.
