Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk instructed the Ministry of
Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine to expand the list of commodity items
to apply countermeasures aimed to protect Ukrainian domestic market from the
economic aggression of the Russian Federation. The Head of Government announced
at the Cabinet’s meeting on Wednesday, January 13.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk also stressed that the Government is engaged in
consultations with the European partners on the implementation of the Free
Trade Area Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, under which
"Ukraine and the EU should strictly adhere to all requirements, standards
and rules of the World Trade Organization, including transit issues".
The Prime Minister accentuated that the Ukrainian side appeals to the
European friends with the "appropriate "menu" how to help us get
through this tough economic stage, after Russia once again violated the
bilateral and multilateral agreements in part of economic cooperation between
Ukraine and the Russian Federation".
"We believe to have an efficient dialogue with our European partners
about how to meet this challenge", summed up Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
