Statement by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman at a joint briefing with the Speaker of the Parliament on adoption of the bill on the Anticorruption Court

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy made a joint statement devoted to the importance of adopting the draft law on the Anticorruption Court of Ukraine.
The Prime Minister stressed: "Today is an important day and week when the law on an independent and  fair Anticorruption court should be adopted. Everyone knows how important today in society are  question of justice and issue of effective fight against corruption. I am deeply convinced that without creating this court, this struggle will not succeed. Therefore, at present, the burning task is to ensure that  Ukrainians have the opportunity to establish such a court, restoration of confidence within the country  means to have trust in the international arena. I am assured that this issue is of predominant importance.

Today, we have ample opportunities and chances, and I make this statement as Prime Minister, to continue developing the country. People will see economy is blooming and life is getting better, thus adoption of the draft law on Anticorruption Court is vitally important. Without this crucial decision, credibility  in state authorities and institutions will be undermined and international standing will be seriously damaged.
I will work together with heads of deputy factions and lawmakers to adopt this decision. I want to emphasize that today we are facing a choice - either further development and problem solving, or  if the  draft law is not endorsed - destabilization. Today a huge challenge exists for everyone engaged  in decision- making process. I, as the Prime Minister of Ukraine, made a decision for myself. If this fair and independent court, will not be established, I will officially resign".
