President Petro Poroshenko took part in festivities on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Antonov State Enterprise.
The Head of State examined production capacity of the enterprise, particularly the second An-220 Mriya aircraft, which is currently at the stage of construction. The President instructed to consider all opportunities, explore the market carefully and inform him on the possibility of completing the construction of An-70 and Mriya.
The President had a conversation with veterans of the plant and crew of An-225 Mriya that has returned from Australia recently. He expressed gratitude for the promotion of Ukraine in the world.
In his turn, crew of the aircraft shared their impressions from the visit to Australia: “We arrived when Jamala won the Eurovision and Australia won the second place. And here Mriya arrives. Australians were delighted with Ukraine”.
Pilots thanked the President for his attention to aviation and presented him the Ukrainian flag, which was on board of Mriya during the flight to Australia.
Petro Poroshenko promised that the flag would be placed in his office.
The Head of State also communicated with Ukrainian warriors – workers of the plant who participated in the ATO.
The President thanked the staff of the plant for a firm belief in the revival of the Ukrainian aircraft manufacturing and presented high state awards to 10 workers.
