Prominent American economist Arthur Laffer is the new advisor of the Ukrainian Minister of Finance

The founder of the "supply-side economics", the prominent US economist Arthur Laffer has been designated the advisor of the Minister of Finance of Ukraine for tax policy issues

In order to make use of the best international experience in the implementation of reforms, development of incentives for investors and economic growth as well as in stimulating employmentthe Minister of Finance of Ukraine is continuing to engage well-known international expertsThe former Prime-Minister and deputy Minister of Finance of Slovakia IvanMiklos as well as international economists Chris Wales and Robert Konrad have already joined the team of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine as advisors of the Finance MinisterIn September the team of international experts who support the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine was joined by the prominent US economist Arthur Laffer


Arthur Laffer studied at Yale Universityearned a PhDIn economics from Stanford University. He holds a professor degree at South Carolina University and Chicago UniversityArthurLaffer is the author of the well-known theory describing a relation between the public revenues and the average tax rates («Laffer curve»). MrLaffer served as an economic advisor of the US President Ronald Reagan and the UK Prime-Minister Margaret Thatcher

MrLaffer will be advising the Minister of Finance of Ukraine on the tax reform aimed to create a transparent and efficient tax system which should contribute to the increase of investments, economic growth and employment as well as improve the quality of public services for business and thus provide a powerful stimulus for the sustainable economic growth of our country.
