In the framework of the preparation for the German-Ukrainian
business forum, which will be held on October 23, the Ministry
of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine held a round table
with representatives of German companies already working in Ukraine.
The meeting was attended by some of the German largest companies,
in particular, DHL International, Robert Bosh LTD, Metro Cash & Carry, BSM
Bosh and Siemens Home Appliance Group and others.
The participants appreciated the high motivation of the Government for
reform and the positive experience of cooperation with central bodies
of executive power. However, it was noted that the worst times are behind,
and some companies have even started expanding their production capacities in
Ukraine. While talking about foreign trade, representatives of German
business also mentioned a good percentage of customs clearance of
goods, which they estimate at over 80%.
“This is a very good signal. We hope that the business forum will give an
additional impetus to the expansion of German business in Ukraine”, said
Alexander Markus, delegate of German economy in Ukraine.
According to the representatives of German companies in Ukraine
has a significant potential in the production of automobile parts, chemical
industry and agro business.
