Polish National Bank allocates EUR 1 bln credit line to Ukraine

The National Bank of Poland will support the National Bank of Ukraine to stabilize the Ukrainian financial system.

The SWAP-agreement on the allocation of a credit line of EUR 1 billion to Ukraine was signed by governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeria Hontareva and governor of the National Bank of Poland Marek Belka in Warsaw, an Ukrinform correspondent in Poland reports.

"These funds will be used to replenish the international reserves of Ukraine," Hontareva said. She added that their amount has doubled since the beginning of this year thanks to the help of the international partners of Ukraine.

In turn, Belka noted that the National Bank of Poland was one of the world's banks and financial institutions that supported the program of reforms in Ukraine.

As a reminder, the agreement on granting funds was announced by Polish President Andrzej Duda and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
