Expenditures for national security and defense expenditures have been
increased to UAH 113 billion in the State Budget for 2016. UAH 74 million is
devoted to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, UAH 500 million - the
National Anti-Corruption Bureau, said Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy
Yatsenyuk in 10 minutes TV program on Sunday, December 27.
The PM stressed that the greatest amount of funds in the Budget for 2016 is
devoted to national security and defense, “to our warriors who are at war with
the Russian military aggression, to our new police officers, to the National
Guard and to all those who defend Ukraine, protect our sovereignty and our
territorial integrity”. In 2016, total funding for the entire sector of
national security and defense is increased by 16 billion to UAH 113 billion.
“These funds will be used primarily to increase salaries for a serviceman
of the National Guard, a soldier, a policeman, a frontiersman – for each
Ukrainian soldier. We apply the following principle – the principle of fair and
equal treatment in salaries for each Ukrainian soldier, the warrior and the
policeman who defend peace and stability in the country.”
A significant amount of funds will be spent on modernization and renovation
of Ukrainian Armed Forces, stressed Arseniy Yatsenyuk, – “on the new technique,
equipment, training in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as well as in the National
Guard and the National Police.”
