National Police of Ukraine and KMSA sign Memorandum of cooperation

The document envisages measures to strengthen public security and order in the city of Kyiv, increase the efficiency of counteraction of crime, to protect rights and freedoms, to take measures to improve and create favorable conditions for the life of Kyivans and guests of the capital. Moreover, among the objectives is to achieve a new level of security in Kyiv.
Director of the National Police of Ukraine Khatia Dekanoidze and Kyiv City Mayor Vitalii Klytschko have signed a Memorandum of cooperation. The priority lines determined in the document include the creation of urban video surveillance system, particularly video recording of license plates of vehicles departing from Kyiv, bridge crossings, transit routes, key intersections and installment of such systems on urban infrastructure objects including business entities, utility companies etc.

In addition, the document stipulates for the introduction of mandatory operational cooperation between the police and members of the Kyiv public formations responsible for the protection of public order, coordination of their activity and the like.
Head of the National Police of Ukraine Khatia Dekanoidze said that the police and Kyiv city authorities should do everything to ensure launch and successful functioning of the joint project of safe Kyiv. It is much needed not just for the residents of the capital, but also for the tourists from all over the world who visit the city. "Kyiv should be an example of a safe city", said Khatia Dekanoidze.
