Ukraine Signed Agreement on Cooperation in Agriculture with Turkmenistan

As Oleksiy Pavlenko, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, stated during a visit to Turkmenistan, the Ukrainian side was interested in intensifying bilateral dialogue and further cooperation in agricultural sector between Ukraine and Turkmenistan.

The Minister noted that during the negotiations the parties had discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation in the field of agriculture between the two countries.

“We are confident that the Ukrainian-Turkmen cooperation in the agricultural sector possesses a significant potential,” the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine added.

The Government of Ukraine and the Government of Turkmenistan signed an Agreement on Cooperation in Agriculture. From the Ukrainian side, the document was signed by O.Pavlenko, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, and the Turkmen side was represented by Ch. Charlyev, the Minister of Agriculture of Turkmenistan.


The agreement will ensure the mutual exchange of information, experience and the latest technologies in the field of agriculture, strengthen the bilateral cooperation based on mutual benefit, mutual respect and sovereign equality.


Speaking about the cooperation in the agricultural sector, the Minister noted: “The signing of the agreement on cooperation will create an opportunity to increase significantly the volumes of Ukrainian products supplied to Turkmenistan. We will develop cooperation between our countries in such major areas as crop production, scientific innovation and the introduction of advanced technologies in agricultural production, processing of agricultural products, training and exchange of specialists and many others,” Oleksiy Pavlenko stressed.
