Turkey, in Istanbul was a presentation of the prospects and opportunities of
the Caspian Trans International transport route
"China-Turkey-Europe".
Slide under the name "International
Trans-Caspian transport highway - New multi-modal solutions" was held
within the annual international transport and logistics exhibition «Logitrans»,
with the support of the Board of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of
Turkey and the Turkish-language countries, in a round table format. In the mentioned
event was attended by representatives of large transport logistics operators in
Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Lithuania.
The round table
participants familiarized themselves with the project and noted the importance
of the Trans-Caspian route. In their view, the Trans-Caspian route has a great
transit potential. Representatives of the Turkish side expressed readiness to
take part in the development of the trans-Caspian route. As a result, the
meeting reached an agreement on the organization of the first demonstrative
trains from China to Europe, and in connection with the commissioning of a
regular container service on the said direction.
According to the director of
LLC "Trans Caucasus Terminals" Levan Sulaberidze, the company
co-founded with the International Consortium already in force and operates in
all countries operating on this route. "Accordingly, we have been in
China, the Ukraine, now in Istanbul."
