In Gomel, the meeting between President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko took place in vis-a-vis format.
At the beginning of the talks, the Head of the Ukrainian State thanked for the initiative of holding the First Forum of Regions of Ukraine and Belarus and noted its effectiveness. In particular, according to the President, a number of agreements were already signed between the regions and several more documents are planned to be adopted.
Petro Poroshenko also noted that cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus is based on friendship. "We are absolutely sure that the relations have come to a serious growth. The economy of our countries shows that the growth is more than 23%," the President of Ukraine noted. According to him, there is an increase in the supply of Ukrainian products to Belarus. "It is very important for us to keep these trends," Petro Poroshenko added.
The Heads of States will take part in the work of the First Forum of Regions of Ukraine and of Belarus.
