This Guidance Note is issued pursuant to the Insurance
Companies Ordinance (Cap. 41) (“Ordinance”) with reference to the requirements
set out in the Insurance Core Principles, Standards, Guidance and Assessment
Methodology (“ICP”) promulgated by the International Association of Insurance
Supervisors.
It sets out prudent practices pertinent to reinsurance management
and the general guiding principles of the Insurance Authority (“IA”) in assessing
the adequacy of the reinsurance arrangements of an insurer.
