President Poroshenko is convinced that the war in the east of our country will end with the victory of Ukraine. He said this during a meeting with representatives of regional media in Vinnytsia.
“When will peace be reached when will the war end - this is a much more complicated question, but I can answer this question. The war will end with our victory. I have no doubt about this. Not only because we have the best Armed Forces, not only because we are defending our native land, not only because Ukrainians have today destroyed all Putin's scenarios about "Novorossiya", "Little Russia", the split of the state and all that. But also because the truth is with us and the Lord is with us, so we will surely win,” the President said.
Answering the question, when the ATO will end, the Head of State said: "The ATO's end date will be in May. We are moving to another format of defense of the country in accordance with the adopted law”.
"We are introducing completely new, more effective measures for the use of the Armed Forces with the expansion of our defense capabilities and we do this because we see a sharp increase in the threat level in the east of our country," he stated.
According to the President, there is now a sharp increase in the threat level in the east. "And powder must be kept dry. And the ATO regime, when it was all guided by the leadership of the Security Service, will now be transferred to the Armed Forces leadership. I appointed a very experienced military, decisive, with a unique combat experience, Lieutenant-General Serhiy Nayev, and ATO format will be transferred to the appropriate military format under his leadership," Petro Poroshenko noted.
