Over 8,000 army reservists
will take part in military exercises
The Ukrainian
Armed Forces will hold a large-scale military reservist training within
September.
The drills seek
to improve the combat readiness of servicemen as well as preserve their
experience gained during the Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine.
Over 8,000
reservists will join 9 brigades in all operation commands, according to the
Defense Ministry of Ukraine.
A practical part
of the drills will take place at firing grounds in five Ukrainian regions.
Reservists will perform tasks in a full conformity with their professional
duties and won't be involved in any fatigue duties.
"During the
training, reservists will come to their units, will perform tasks with assigned
equipment within their professional duties. The feature of these drills is that
around one thousand reservists join each brigade", Mykhailo
Shcherbyna, chief of reservist service of Ukraine's Armed Forces, explained.
At the moment,
there are around 85,000 reservists, who were previously mobilized for the
anti-terrorist operation in Donbas. The military drills are designed to help
them keep their level of professionalism and improve their combat readiness.
