Ukraine's State Border Guard Service recommends that citizens not visit Crimea

The Ukrainian State Border Guard Service has advised Ukrainian citizens against visiting Crimea without a special need.

The State Border Guard Service strongly recommends that Ukrainian citizens refrain from visiting the peninsula without a special need, bearing in mind the tensions that have been "fuelled" in the past few days, Oleh Slobodian, spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, told a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.

The Ukrainian military and border guards earlier reinforced border protection.
