Ukraine and Malaysia signed agreement to avoid double taxation and prevent fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income

In the presence of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Razak a series of bilateral documents have been signed.
The Agreement between the Governments of Ukraine and Malaysia on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Deputy Minister of Finance of Malaysia Johari Abdul Ghani in Kuala Lumpur.

Petro Poroshenko expressed confidence that the given agreement would help improve Ukraine-Malaysia business contacts and stimulate investors. “We will be glad to welcome Malaysian investors in the energy sector, logistics, port development. These are promising areas for Malaysian investors,” the President said delivering the joint press statement with the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
The parties confirmed mutual interest in expanding bilateral relations and intensification of trade and economic relations. The President stressed that Ukraine had a lot of interesting projects for cooperation, including joint participation in the implementation of space programs, supply of Ukrainian food and medicines, provision of Antonov transport aircrafts for the defense industry.
The President informed that the parties had agreed to accelerate the launch of the Ukraine-Malaysia trade commission. It is planned that the first session of the commission will be held this year.
Following the negotiations, the Agreement between Ukraine and the Government of Malaysia on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters had been signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Attorney General of Malaysia Mohamed Apandi Ali.
Also, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Minister of Home Affairs of Malaysia Ahmad Zahid Hamidi signed the Agreement on Extradition of Offenders.
