President signed Law of Ukraine “On the National Police”

In the presence of new patrol police officers, the President signed Law of Ukraine “On the National Police”.

The Head of State congratulated the representatives of newly established law enforcement agency: “The whole country is looking at you. This day will remain in the history of our country as the day when the national police of Ukraine was legalized”. The President reminded that exactly a month passed since the presentation of new police. 

Signing the document, the Head of State emphasized that “changes in Ukraine are closely associated with the Ukrainian police”. At the same time he noted: “It is very easy to present something. But it is very difficult to maintain compliance with the high lath of people's expectations from the police”.

The President praised respect of citizens to the new police and emphasized the importance of involving women in the new patrol police.


The President shared his opinion on the reformation of the law enforcement bodies and the establishment of this new agency: “Many people thought that it is impossible to eliminate bribery in the police. But you demonstrated that persistent work can change everything”.

The Head of State believes that positive experience of establishing the patrol police in Kyiv will be spread all over Ukraine.

The meeting was attended by Minister of the Interior Arsen Avakov and Chief of Kyiv Patrol Police Oleksandr Fatsevich.
