The first session of the Ukrainian-American Council on
Trade and Investment will be held in May for the first time in the past three
years.
Ukrainian Minister of Economic Development
and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius said this in his comments to an Ukrinform
correspondent.
According to him, the agreement was
reached during the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Washington, USA, to
participate in the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the
World Bank Group.
"We have agreed with the U.S. Trade
Representative Office to hold a meeting of the Ukrainian-American Council on
Trade and Investment which operation was constantly postponed for the past
three years," the minister said.
He informed that the meeting will be held
on May 28-29 in Kyiv. It is expected that participants will consider the
prospects for improving Ukraine's investment climate during a gradual
stabilization of the country's economy and the crisis in its eastern regions.
The session of the Council will be the fifth since the establishment of this
mechanism.
