The Cabinet of
Ministers of Ukraine proposes to leave in state ownership approximately 250
strategically important companies, and the rest should be publicly and
transparently privatized. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed
this at a meeting of the National Tripartite Social and Economic Council on
Thursday, April 16.
The Cabinet of
Ministers of Ukraine, according to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, supports the
transparent privatization and attracting investors.
The Prime Minister
informed that the Government proposes to leave in state ownership about 250
strategically important companies, "All the rest should be transparently
and publicly privatized with preservation of social standards and guarantees
for privatized enterprises."
This process, he
underlined, requires an active role of trade unions in order to prepare plans
for privatization and ensure protection and guarantees that the new owner will
develop the company for workers of enterprises subject to privatization.
