On Tuesday, Prime Minister of
Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman held a meeting with Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Ukraine Henryk Litvin in
connection with completion of his diplomatic mission in Ukraine. The parties
discussed the topical issues of cooperation between Ukraine and Poland and
their future development.
The Prime Minister stressed
interstate relations between Ukraine and Poland have strategic importance.
The Head of Government
commended Poland's support for the necessary reforms, in particular the
decentralization of power. For its part Ukraine is ready to build friendly and
constructive relations with Poland, assured Volodymyr Groysman.
"There are certain
challenges that we must overcome, there are problems that we must solve, but it
is crucial to ensure that the questions and answers that we exchange with each
other make us closer, but not disunite. Because Poland and Ukraine are very
close and friendly states that have our common past, rather challenging past,
that have very good present and have to ensure a shared and friendly
future", he said.
"I will spare no effort
to keep our bilateral relations at high level. I believe this is very
important. We must overcome all the challenges we face. This is a task for the
Government I chair, and in general for all of us," noted the Prime Minister.
Moreover, the Head of
Government emphasized the importance of the participation of President of
PolandAndrzej Duda in the celebrations devoted to the 25th
anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine.
Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Poland to Ukraine thanked to Volodymyr Groysman for
cooperation. He also evaluated the endeavors of the Government in the
development of Polish-Ukrainian relations.
"From the beginning of
work of your Government we noticed very rapid growth of activity in the
inter-ministerial direction”, said Henryk Litwin. “The work of your
Government demonstrates there is a great interest in bilateral contacts,
so, on our side, there have also opened new opportunities. I believe that
they will develop successfully".
