Ukraine and
Lithuania will continue the persistent and beneficial development of trade and
economic relations in the #agricultural_sector. Vladyslava Rutytska,
the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine for European
Integration, discussed the cooperation during a meeting with Marius Yanukonis,
the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lithuanian Republic in
Ukraine.
“I would like to
mention the active dialogue and cooperation between the agricultural Ministries
of the two countries. Ukraine is interested in adopting of the Lithuanian
experience and in cooperation on the issues of harmonization of Ukrainian
legislation to European standards, in particular in the field of food safety.
Also, one should outline the cooperation in the field of organic production. I
believe that our state has serious untapped potential in this sphere”, Vladyslava Rutytska noted.
In addition, the
parties discussed joint visits and a series of expert consultations on the
provision of state support to agricultural producers and development of
entrepreneurial initiatives in rural areas.
“We find the
experience of the Republic of Lithuania very important, as it is used to
establish an optimal system of administration of state support for the agrarian
sector and rural development in Ukraine, harmonized with the relevant EU
requirements. In the context of the implementation of the Association
Agreement, we continue to cooperate through the exchange of information and
transfer of Lithuanian experience with respect to the requirements for food
products, standards of quality and safety. We are going to hold round table
discussions and training seminars for Ukrainian specialists on the issues of
harmonization of the national legislation and implementation of the EU law in
