Ministry of Culture of Ukraine is extremely perturbed fact of destruction
in #Orenburg_house where during his exile was #Taras_Shevchenko. The lack of
adequate response from the official authorities of this unprecedented act of
vandalism, but in fact consent in violation of both international standards and
domestic law in Russia, demonstrates the continued policy of aggressive
attitude to the history and culture of the Ukrainian people and the rights of
Ukrainian as the largest national minority living in the Russian Federation.
Demolished building was not only a unique memorial value through
association with Taras Shevchenko as a figure of world importance, the 200th
anniversary was recently celebrated at the highest international level (the
General Conference 37 th anniversary session of UNESCO included in the calendar
of memorable dates 2014-2015 years), but according to the Federal law "On
protection of cultural heritage (monuments of history and culture) of the
peoples of RF" the house has the status of historical monuments of federal
significance (code sights 5610019000).
