SPF initiates expansion of list of objects for privatization

The State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPF) has proposed excluding 44 objects from the list of objects that are not subject to privatization and putting them up for #privatization, including the Ukrainian Danube Navigation, state enterprise Smoly (part of Nuclear Fuel state concern), Kharkiv distillery and Kharkiv factory of sparkling wine.

According to a report on the SPF's website, the relevant bill to amend the list of state objects that are not subject to privatization was prepared by the fund to increase the number of objects that can be privatized in 2016.

The SPF notes that most of the objects on the results of operations do not meet the criteria of those that cannot be privatized, whereas the main task of privatization is to increase economic efficiency, attract investment to modernize production.

According to the report, among the objects that are proposed for excluding from the list of those that cannot be privatized are OJSC Ukrzinc, OJSC Ukrainian Research Institute of Refractories, OJSC Cherkasy Instrument Making Plant, OJSC Bolshevik, Odesa Airlines (all are managed by the SPF).
