President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting
with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden in Davos.
The meeting lasted over 4 hours. According to the
President, the parties discussed security issues first of all. "We reached
a conclusion that there is no alternative to the Minsk process. We enjoy full
support from the United States regarding the implementation of the Minsk
process.
We agreed to coordinate actions in order to ensure the ceasefire and provide access to the border and heavy weapons storage facilities for the OSCE SMM. We also agreed to coordinate actions for the liberation of Ukrainian hostages," Petro Poroshenko informed.

Also, the parties coordinated actions to intensify political process including the elaboration of the modalities of elections in the occupied territories under the Ukrainian legislation with broad participation of the international observers.
Significant attention was paid to the U.S. support for
the Ukrainian reforms and intensification of military-technical cooperation.
The President thanked the U.S. Vice President for the recent assistance in the
amount of USD 23 million. "We agreed to continue this cooperation,"
Petro Poroshenko informed.
The parties discussed security and defense reform. The
U.S. takes active part in this process.
They also discussed energy cooperation. "It was
clearly emphasized that the Nord Stream 2 is a purely political project aimed
against Ukraine and the majority of EU states. We must act efficiently to stop
it," the President stressed.
In the context of the discussion of cooperation with
IMF, the President thanked the United States for the firm financial and
reformist support to Ukraine.
"The agenda was really extensive. It was a true
friendly conversation of states-partners. I am grateful to the U.S. for
that," the President emphasized.
