Arseniy Yatsenyuk: Ukraine improves its performance by 17 positions in Global Services Location Index and enters top 50 most innovative economies list

Ukraine has improved in Global Services Location Index ranking by 17 points and entered top 50-list of countries having the most innovative economy, announced Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a Government meeting on Wednesday, January 20.

Ukraine, actually for the first time, has moved up by 17 points in the global index which scores such factors as financial attractiveness, people skills and availability, and business environment (Global Services Location Index) and ranked 24th: "Despite the war, the difficult situation, we have moved up by 17 positions".


The Prime Minister also stressed that the Bloomberg reported that Ukraine was among top 50 countries having the most innovative economy.

Moreover, he reminded that Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/ Vice-President of the European Commission announced the reforming process is underway in Ukraine: “It is confirmed by the European Union”. Similar views on the reform process were expressed by European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström.

"A lot have been done. And we must realize that those steps take time. The reforms should be assessed not by those who strive for power, but, primarily, by the international financial institutions, the European Union, our Western partners," he stressed.

"To ensure the advancement, definitely, we need to have political unity and to continue the cooperation program with the International Monetary Fund. As it is just the cooperation program with the International Monetary Fund which is another fundamental principle to ensure economic stability within the country", stressed the Head of Government.
