Chevron energy corporation leaves the project on shale gas extraction in Ukraine.
Spokesperson for the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine Hanna Dudka said this in a commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent.
“Chevron actually announced its withdrawal from the market. The agreement on shale gas extraction was signed with the two companies, Shell and Chevron. Shell still remains on the market, however, no works for gas extraction are carried out," Dudka said.
As a reminder, Chevron Ukraine B.V. officially announced it terminates its activities in Ukraine. The corresponding decision of the company's board of directors was adopted on July 2.
