Most U.S. Organizations Analyze Employee Data to Meet EU Privacy Rules
Processing and storing employee
personal
data can fast become a liability for multinational organizations under current and upcoming EU privacy
regulations
. The EU’s soon-to-be-enforced General Data Protection Regulation (
GDPR
), for example, mandates that all companies with personal data of EU citizens abide by strict consent and processing requirements.
But according to “The State of Privacy for Employee-Created Data” survey, U.S. organizations with EU customers are taking a hands-on “big brother” approach to managing employee data in-house, and many still are struggling to get their data management processes up to speed with EU regulations.
