Ukrainian President: Decree on demobilization of the fifth wave will be signed

In the course of the working trip to Kharkiv region, President Petro Poroshenko informed that today, the decree on demobilization of the fifth wave of servicemen mobilized in 2015 will be signed. Demobilization will be carried out in June-July.

"About 17 thousand servicemen will come back home to their families. Enormous gratitude to all of them on behalf of the people of Ukraine for their feat and service," Petro Poroshenko said in Ivan Kozhedub Air Forces University of Kharkiv.
The President noted that the demobilized warriors would be replaced by contractors.

"If we had been acting by inertia, the eighth wave of mobilization would be announced now. Instead, we are making every effort to replenish the Armed Forces with professional contractors," the Head of State said.
"I am doing everything possible to minimize the influence of war on society and economy, and let it focus on peaceful construction of new Ukraine," Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
The President noted that further prospects of mobilization depended on the situation on the frontline and the actions of the aggressor.
"We are working to restore territorial integrity of our state in political and diplomatic way," the President stressed. However, the defense capacity of the state must be kept high.
