President: We will do everything possible to restore Ukrainian sovereignty and peaceful life in Donbas

President Petro Poroshenko emphasizes that the government does everything possible to restore integrity of Ukraine and return sovereignty to the occupied territories by diplomatic means.
“We will do everything to return Ukrainian flag and sovereignty to the occupied territories peacefully,” the Head of State noted in the course of the speech at the solemn ceremony of taking oath by the police officers in Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

Petro Poroshenko once again noted that despite statements of the so-called “fifth column”, the Minsk agreements were efficient. The Armed Forces, Ukrainian diplomacy, volunteers are making every effort to restore peace. “It is our victory. We have stopped the biggest army on the continent - we have restored the Armed Forces, liberated ⅔ of Donbas and created a powerful global coalition. Sanctions are imposed against Russia for the non-fulfilment of the Minsk agreements. We are liberating Ukrainian hostages illegally retained in both the occupied territories and Russia,” the President said.
The Head of State noted that restoration of political processes was currently being prepared. However, they can take place solely in conditions of full implementation of all agreements.
“They can take place only when the OSCE armed monitoring mission will be deployed on the touch line for ensuring the ceasefire, when heavy weaponry withdrawn under the Minsk agreements will be guarded by this mission, when it will control the uncontrolled part of the Ukraine-Russia border and then convey this control to the Ukrainian border guards. Then, we will have an opportunity to speak of full implementation of the Minsk agreements,” Petro Poroshenko noted.
According to the President, special fund on restoration of Donbas is being established. “I have held a meeting to collect significant funds both from the State Budget of Ukraine and the donor aid of our partners and international financial organizations. 500 million from Germany, 200 million from the EBRD, 200 million from the EIB, significant sums from G7 and UN,” he said.
According to the Head of State, the list of facilities to be restored by the donor aid has already been formed. The main priorities are water and energy supply and reconstruction of bridges.
Restoration of Donbas is the key element in the return of the state sovereignty over the occupied territories, as stated by the President. “The whole Donbas, the whole Ukraine and the whole world should see that the restoration of Donbas is the top priority for the Ukrainian authorities. Everyone sees the difference in the attitude to people here and there. Everyone sees how we are going to restore normal life and knows the consequences of the so-called “Russian spring” or “Russian world”,” the President noted.
