Britain's Crown Agents procurement agency will
recommend the list of medicines to treat adults with cancer. The medicines will
be purchased using budget funds, apart from the positions that aroused doubts
among medical experts.
The decision was made after public consultations
with representatives of patient and nongovernmental organizations on Tuesday.
"It has been decided to recommend to the
Health Ministry that it buys these medicines, apart from those that aroused
doubts with experts.
It has been also decided to recommend an additional
analysis of medicines of one of the manufacturers registered in Ukraine, as
experts had some questions about them," Deputy Health Minister Ihor
Perehynets said after the consultations.
He said that the doubts concern medicines made
by Venus Remedies.
Crown Agents presented a total of 65 medicines,
including 12 made by Venus Remedies.
Perehynets said that the Health Ministry has not
yet signed any contracts on supply of the medicines.
