Ukraine and NATO signed a road map on defense
and technical cooperation, a press service of National Security and Defense
Council (NSDC) said.
"As a part of the visit of Ukrainian
president to the headquarters of the alliance, the Ukraine-NATO road map on
defense and technical cooperation was signed," reads a report.
According to the report, the document was signed
by First Deputy Secretary of NSDC Oleh Hladkovsky and NATO Assistant Secretary
General for Defense Investment Patrick Auroy.
"The signing of the roadmap is a logical
continuation of a long-term cooperation in this sphere and meant to develop the
practical aspects of implementation of the priorities envisaged in the joint
statement on strengthening of defense-technical cooperation of Ukraine with
NATO, which was signed on September 22, 2015 in the frames of NATO Secretary
General's visit," reads a report from the NSDC.
The document determines the main measures of
cooperation for the development of Ukraine's capabilities in armament and military
hardware, achievement of the intercompatibility with NATO forces in this
sector, as well as rendering aid to Ukraine in switching to the technical
standards of the alliance.
