Address by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk

My dear compatriots!
It's been two years since we all gathered together in our big European Maidan. We went there for the sake of our common dream – the dream of our European successful, prosperous and free country. We went there to protect our dignity, our freedom and our future.
Nobody expected then what we would have to face, what challenges would occur in front of each citizen of our country and our state in whole. But day after day we advance.
I know it's hard. It is always hard when one sets an ambitious goal. But I know we mustn’t give up. We should unite and advance steadily all together. Advance steadily to make our shared dream a reality. I agree, it's not easy, I agree, it's not fast. But it will happen. We’ll succeed if we will continue to believe. We’ll succeed if we don’t lose confidence our choice is correct. We’ll succeed if we will continue to support each other and follow the chosen path.

For our European choice, for our dream, for our decision and for our love of freedom Russia declared war on us. But we have withstood. They tried to destroy us, but we exist. They want to capture us, but they have failed and they will never succeed.
Much has been done over the past two years. But there is much more to be done. Our goal is our European Union membership. We are a truly European country, which doesn’t just share the values of the European Union – which has proven under the flags of the European Union that we are fighting and defending our right to freedom, dignity, justice and our legitimate right to become part of United Europe.
This European dream was what we were fighting for in Maidan. Ukrainian patriots gave their lives for it. Our Ukrainian soldiers are fighting for it in the battles against Russian military aggression. And it's worth fighting.
Together we have created history. Now we should create our common future. No matter how hard it is, no matter what obstacles emerge, but we are capable of doing it.
The success of our country depends on each of us, each one of you. On your work, your confidence, your faith, your desire to become part of the European family. Nothing is lacking for our success. We are brave, strong, smart, talented, confident and loyal to our country. There is no doubt that Ukraine will become a member of the European Union. Our Ukrainian people deserve it. Ukraine is Europe! Glory to Ukraine!
