It's almost impossible to get education in Ukrainian and Tatar languages. The rights and freedoms of people, especially of those who demonstrate pro-Ukrainian views, are gradually phased out.
OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Astrid Thors and the director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Michael Georg Link stated this, presenting the report on human rights violations in Crimea in Warsaw on Thursday.
"After Crimea was annexed illegally, the expression of freedom of religion and cultural characteristics has decreased. There is a hostile attitude towards the people who support the integrity of Ukraine, Ukrainian symbols and important Ukrainian events. Ukrainian education has almost disappeared, and the parents are not able to educate children. The similar situation is observed with the Tatar culture," Thors stressed, presenting the report.
In turn, the ODIHR director noted that the OSCE mission had a lot of convincing evidence of human rights violations, in particular of people who have pro-Ukrainian views.
