On Wednesday, July 22, Prime
Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk took part in the opening
of the main department of Kyiv patrol police.
The Prime Minister visited the
hall of administrative office, control room, office for issuing DVRs, storage
and processing of video information room.
He underlined that police will
work with citizens in this department both in providing them with services and
administrative practice."
"If a person needs to know
something about an offense, write a complaint about the police activity, return
a driving license, get information on traffic accident for an insurance company
– he/she comes to this center, and without queues that were previously in the
district offices of the SAI, without delay, gets a police service," he
noted.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk has stressed that
this is the first stage in the reform of administrative services in general.
He recalled that a bill on
reforming the entire system of the former Soviet Interdistrict registration-examination
departments and transition to
providing services in the Ukrainian police has been already submitted to
Parliament and voted in first reading after rather long discussions.
"We welcome this step taken
with the help of our American partners. This is only the first step in
the full reform of the police service in Ukraine," the Prime Minister
added.
