The Constitutional Commission has taken into account all recommendations of the Venice Commission during the last drafting of amendments to the Constitution concerning decentralization.
Secretary of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe Thomas Markert said this during a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"The amendments that you have approved today fully reflect the position of the Venice Commission," he said.
At the same time, Markert hoped that the Ukrainian President would quickly submit the draft amendments to Constitution to the Verkhovna Rada for adoption.
He also stressed that the Constitutional Commission should continue working to become "a good platform for further reforms."
According to him, the commission members will have to work on amendments to existing legislation and control over their implementation.
