Ukraine tears up five agreements with Russia

Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko on Monday signed into law five bills denouncing Ukrainian-Russian defense cooperation agreements, which were approved by Verkhovna Rada on May 21, 2015, the president's press office said.

In particular, the president signed the law "On the denunciation of the Ukrainian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on transit via Ukraine of Russian military personnel temporarily stationed in the Republic of Moldova" and the law "On the denunciation of the Ukrainian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on organizing military inter-state transportation and related payments."

The other three bills signed by the president on Monday are titled "On the denunciation of the Ukrainian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on mutual protection of secret information," "On the denunciation of the Ukrainian-Russian agreement on military-intelligence cooperation" and "On the denunciation of the Ukrainian-Russian inter-governmental agreement on defense cooperation."
