Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin claims that Ukraine will "fully implement" reforms envisaged by the action plan for visa liberalization, and said that the risk refusal of visa-free regime for Ukrainians is caused by Russia's aggression.
He said this in a comment to the Yevropeiska Pravda online newspaper.
"Over the past year, Ukraine has conducted large-scale changes required to obtain a visa-free regime with the EU. Implementation of legislation on the fight against corruption is ensured, the law enforcement system is reformed, and Ukraine started issuing biometric documents for traveling abroad. These reforms will be fully implemented," Klimkin assured.
The minister recalled that the EU mission has arrived in Ukraine to assess the performance of Action Plan for visa liberalization by Kyiv.
"Ukrainians, who travel to the EU countries not violating any laws, should not pay for the risks of practical implementation of visa-free regime that arouse because of the Russian aggression in the east of Ukraine," he said to the representatives of the European Union.
The Foreign Minister expressed his belief that the visa barrier for short-term travelling of Ukrainian citizens to the EU "must be eliminated."
