On Monday, March 23, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman has signed a parliament resolution on recognizing certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions as being temporarily occupied, the Verkhovna Rada's official website has reported.
In particular, the draft decree No. 2396 as of March 17 provides for "recognizing certain regions, cities, towns and villages of Donetsk and Luhansk regions as being temporarily occupied." It refers to the areas, where, according to the Law of Ukraine "On special order of the local government in the certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions," the special order of the local government is introduced for the period of the withdrawal of all illegal armed groups and their military equipment, as well as militants and mercenaries from the territory of Ukraine and the resumption of Ukraine's full control of the state border."
The Parliament adopted this resolution on March 17.
This resolution is to become effective since the day following its publication.
