Dr. Volodymyr Machuskyy and solicitor Solomiya Boyar: a meeting of old friends in Kyiv
Today was such a wonderful and meaningful day for me as I got to catch up with my dear old friend, Solomiya Boyar. She's a respected solicitor from London, and our meeting in Kyiv was truly special, filled with reminiscences and a renewed sense of purpose, especially in the legal sphere.
Solomiya shared some fascinating insights into how the London Ukrainian community has been providing invaluable support to individuals and the Ukrainian state during these tough times. We had deep conversations about the urgent task of rebuilding Ukraine, discussing strategies to address and compensate for the damages caused by military conflicts.
One of the topics that really intrigued us was the intersection of artificial intelligence and jurisprudence. We spent time exploring the challenges and opportunities that AI brings to legal contexts, brainstorming potential solutions to improve its effectiveness and ensure ethical use.
Issues of insurance law in wartime and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine were discussed separately.
Our discussion left us both feeling hopeful about future collaborations in the legal field and through volunteering efforts. It's truly heartening to see old friendships like ours blossoming into avenues for positive change and mutual growth. Here's to the continued cooperation and impactful endeavors that lie ahead!
