A joint press conference between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Russian President Vladimir Putin (Ukrainian vision)

A joint press conference between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Russian President Vladimir Putin took place today.

In the context of Ukraine, the following theses were voiced:

1. Scholz stated that the President of Ukraine was firmly in favor of submitting to the tripartite contact group bills amending the Constitution of Ukraine aimed at ensuring the legal status of eastern Ukraine and holding elections.

2. Putin did not deny the possibility of war. He reiterated Russia's concerns about NATO enlargement and called for a return to NATO of 1997.

3. Putin stated that Ukraine's accession to NATO will inadmissible and demanded clear legal guarantees.

Impressions from the press conference:

1. Scholz is ready to give Ukraine to Putin in exchange for European security.

2. Ukraine is a manic idea for Putin on the one hand. On the other hand, he needs full control over Ukraine. Without Ukraine, the Russian Federation has no future.

European Chips Act

The EU Chips Act proposes to build on Europe’s strengths and address outstanding weaknesses, to develop a thriving semiconductor ecosystem and resilient supply chain, while setting measures to prepare, anticipate and respond to future supply chain disruptions.

Why do we need a European Chips Act?

Chips — also known as semiconductors — are the building block of all electronic products. They play a central role in our modern economies and our daily lives. Chips underpin the digital transformation and are essential to all industries, such as the car industry, communications, data processing, space, defence, smart devices and gaming, to name a few.

The recent global chips shortage has disrupted supply chains, caused product shortages ranging from cars to medical devices, and in some cases even forced factories to close.

The European Chips Act, adopted by the Commission on 8 February 2022, seeks to strengthen the semiconductor ecosystem. It is composed of a Communication, which spells out the European Strategy and rationale behind the Chips Act, a proposal for a Regulation, and a Recommendation to Member States.

The Art of Free Flight or a Brief Essay on the True History of Ukrainian Aeronautics First line

First line

Located almost on the very Ukrainian-Romanian border, the village was called Shuyan (do not think, nothing to do with the French Chouans). In this small Transcarpathian village, no one has ever heard of a seagull named Livingston, nor of the Glittering World. Not to mention all sorts of Ariels, Phaetons or ordinary Indian levitation enthusiasts.
The vast majority of residents were interested in used Mercedes, frontier trade and petty smuggling. The contingent of the village consisted of pragmatic, cunning and suspicious people.
In short, philosophical reflections and spiritual quests were not in trend here.
One lady, and indeed in general, said simply and clearly in Russian: “Philosophy must be banned!” One lady actually said simply and clearly in Russian: "Philosophy must be banned!" At the same time, she looked around with such a victorious air that there were no brave men to openly object, even if they were, which in itself is unlikely.
