All regions of Ukraine are in the “green” zone in terms of the incidence of COVID-19, which reached the lowest figures over the last year. This was discussed at a conference call chaired by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, 420 new patients with COVID-19 have been detected over the past 24 hours. This is the lowest figure over the last year.
“All regions of Ukraine are in the “green” zone. According to the criteria of the European Union, Ukraine has also entered the “green” zone as of today. We have a rate of 74.71 cases per 100 thousand population with the EU criteria of 75 cases per 100 thousand population,” said Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister said that more than 1 million 479 thousand people received the first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19, and more than 238 thousand people – two doses. 57,000 Ukrainians were vaccinated last weekend. More than 50 vaccination centers were opened with 178 mobile teams operating.
According to the Prime Minister, Ukraine has received 4,850,000 doses of vaccines to date. Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko said that after the confirmation of all contracts for the supply of vaccines together with the COVAX program, Ukraine will receive more than 10 million vaccines from various manufacturers by the end of the summer. 5 million people are planned to be vaccinated with these vaccines.
Work is underway to create a so-called COVID certificate. According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, on July 1 this year, the internal Ukrainian “COVID certificate” will appear in the Diia app.
An official launch of electronic sick leave certificates took place as well. Appropriate webinars with doctors were held. To date, 109 health facilities have tested the functionality and issued electronic medical reports.
In addition, the Minister of Health reported to the President on the situation with the arrears to the medical workers, which arose in April-May.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the need for strict personal responsibility of officials for non-payment to doctors, up to dismissal, and set a task to eliminate the arrears as soon as possible.
“Such a situation is unacceptable for a modern civilized country, especially now, when doctors are at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic,” he said.
The Head of State called on the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health to take control of this issue.
