Easter greetings by the President of Ukraine

Fellow Ukrainians!
The President: There is a very good tradition in Ukraine to commemorate Resurrection as Easter - a truly Great Day. Due to its extraordinary significance, this holiday is more than just a religious one. It is celebrated not only by Christians, not only by believers.
Thus, I congratulate everyone whose hearts are full of happiness in these wonderful days of long-awaited spring.
Resurrection is a victory of life over death, it is a victory of truth over lies, a victory of light over darkness, a victory of good over evil.

This is our victory over a hard economic crisis caused by the Russian aggression. This year’s Easter is a very special day, as it gradually brings confidence that the hardest challenges have already passed.
Hence, in order not to lose the good prospects opened for our country, we should ensure peace. Peace inside the country. Peace on the external frontiers.
“Peace be unto you,” the Savior said. He also said: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God”.
On Pussy Willow Sunday, I visited Mariupol. They know the price of peace there very well. They pray for peace to finally come irrevocably.
The residents of Volnovakha also asked me about peace and peacekeepers. I had a meeting with parents and children in a new school, which is a symbol of peace itself.
It is absolutely impossible to ensure peace without a highly professional army that strongly holds the line, striking fear in the aggressor and guaranteeing tranquility of people. Look at these brave warriors. Don’t they bring confidence in our Armed Forces, hope for peace and love to Ukraine? Just as confidence that we will definitely win.
I handed over paskas baked by my wife Maryna to the warriors. The men, by the way, asked to thank her for that...
Maryna Poroshenko: It is us who should thank them for defending Ukraine. Easter is a holiday of great faith in the victory of good over evil. On this day, we ask the Lord to fill our hearts with feelings of happiness, delight and purification. It is time when we should forget about the offences and troubles. And live with bright thoughts and good intentions. Easter brings us together in a sincere prayer for peace and tranquility in Ukraine. So may Easter inspire us all for unity and righteous deeds!
The President: We celebrate Easter together. As it is said in the Holy Writ: “One Lord, one faith, one baptism”.
Christ is risen!
Truly, He is risen!
