More than just acquiring Crimea – sometimes it is about natural resources

The main goal for the Russian annexation of Crimea and invasion into Donbas was an attempt to block Western energy companies from natural resources located in the Black Sea and in the area of Yuzov gas field located within the borders of Donetsk and Kharkiv Oblasts. This opinion was expressed by the U.S. Army veteran, Regional Fellow of the National Review Institute analytical center and international consultant for energy sector development, Robert Chislett, in an interview.
