President during the NSDC: Law on the National Security of Ukraine must bring the security and defense sector of Ukraine to the EU and NATO standards

The National Security and Defense Council headed by President Petro Poroshenko discussed the draft law “On the National Security of Ukraine”.

The President emphasized that the given national legislative act in the sphere of security and defense must meet and ensure the reform of the security and defense sector of Ukraine and facilitate the improvement of our cooperation with the NATO countries.

“This legislative act must bring the standards of the national security and defense in compliance with the standards of the national security of the European Union,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

“The draft law is aimed at Ukraine’s membership in both the EU and NATO, which must be an unconditional security guarantee of our state’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the President noted, underscoring the significant importance of that issue.
