The foreign delegation led by ex-NATO Secretary General, now adviser to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Anders Fogh Rasmussen visited several towns and cities in east of Ukraine. Foreign partners got acquainted with tasks and life of the Ukrainian troops in the region.
During a briefing the Ukrainian party informed the guests about situation in east of Ukraine, violations of the ceasefire by militants. The delegation also toured a brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces deployed on the frontline.
Mr Rasmussen said this visit was useful because the European politicians reassured of necessity to support Ukraine in its fighting against the Russian aggression.
“Tens of thousands of Russian troops and separatists are in eastern Ukraine and Europe should take a hard-line stance on assistance to Ukraine,” ex-NATO Secretary General stressed.
