A European supplier of natural gas, Engie, launched natural gas shipments to Ukraine on January 1. The national gas transportation system has already received 3.9 mcm of gas in the first ten days of 2017," the statement says.

The daily gas supply is nearly 0.4 mcm in keeping with Engie's nomination for gas delivery. This gas is imported from Poland via the Belarus-based Germanovichi gas metering station. As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine on October 28 allowed Engie to store gas in local gas storage facilities, which was sealed in an agreement between Ukrtransgaz and the French company.

Engie (formerly GDF Suez) is a major French energy and gas company headquartered in Paris. Its annual turnover is about EUR 60 billion. Engie has recently opened a subsidiary in Ukraine whose mission is to develop the parent company's business in the Ukrainian market.
